After more than a decade at Western, including the last 9 as president, Roger Stanford is signing off. But not before one final handoff.

Today marks Roger’s last day at Western, and while it’s hard to sum up his impact in a social media post, his legacy can be seen throughout our college, our community, and most importantly, in the lives of the students we serve.

We’re grateful for Roger’s leadership, his steady commitment to Western, and the many relationships he has built along the way.

As Roger heads into retirement and Kirk Bennett begins his time as Western’s eighth president, they teamed up for one last message.

Thank you for everything, Roger. We wish you all the best in retirement — and don’t be a stranger!

We are beyond honored to announce a transformational gift to Western Technical College: the donation of the commercial building located at 601 7th Street N. (currently known as the Associated Center). To recognize the incredible generosity and dedication of the Bosshard and Parke families, the building will officially be renamed the Bosshard-Parke Partnership Center.

This generous gift from the Bosshard and Parke families strengthens our long-term commitment to serving the region. Existing tenants will continue operating under their current leases, maintaining vital regional community partnerships and generating revenue that directly supports Western while opening doors for future strategic growth.

It was a pleasure to welcome Congressman Derrick Van Orden to Western today!

During his visit, Congressman Van Orden had an opportunity to say goodbye to President Roger Stanford and meet new President Kirk Bennett. Roger provided a tour of the robotics spaces in the Wanek Center for Innovation, highlighting the technology and hands-on learning that prepare our students for careers in our region’s evolving workforce.
