UWL Culture & Politics in Central/Eastern Europe "Culture and Politics in Budapest" is a summer study abroad program led by University of Wisconsin-La Crosse faculty.

"Culture and Politics in Budapest" is a summer study abroad program led by University of Wisconsin-La Crosse faculty Dr. Regina Goodnow (political science) and Dr. Elizabeth Peacock (anthropology). The program includes two upper-division courses, "Post-Communist Politics" and "Peoples and Cultures of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union." Our aim is to integrate course topics and activities,

providing students multiple perspectives on modern political, social, economic, and cultural concerns. In addition to class meetings, we will have excursions to local sites, mini-activities for students to complete as they explore the city, and a day trip outside of Budapest. Students will earn 6 undergraduate credits if they take both courses offered. The program will be held 3 June - 30 June 2018, and is open to undergraduates. Though we primarily serve UWL students, we highly encourage students at other UW system campuses and at other US universities to contact us for details. The cost of the program is $6,000, and includes shared housing in an apartment in Prague for 4 weeks, tuition and fees for 6 credits, entry for all program excursions and tours.
