This enthusiastic simulation specialist is modeling a new Belly Ostomy Care Trainer we recently funded for the Integrated Center for Education at Emplify Health by Gundersen. Staff say this new design allows learners to practice ostomy care in a more realistic environment, improving confidence, competence and empathy.

This is the final year for Bags for Brian a co****le tournament that raises money for Brian’s Fund at Gundersen Medical Foundation. This year’s event will take place this Saturday, Oct. 3 at Features in Holmen. Over the course of nine years, Bags for Brian has raised close to $100,000 to support patients with colon and colorectal cancers.

An important man is gone, but his memory would never be forgotten, as his name is now tied to a co****le tournament that raises money to support patients and their families with colon cancer.

We did it! 🩷🎉 For a second year in a row, YOU helped raise over $500,000 to support our friends, family, and neighbors with breast cancer. Funds raised this year will go right to work, supporting breast cancer research and patient programs at Emplify Health by Gundersen.

Earlier this week, we were honored to accept a gift from this year's Chad Erickson Memorial Thunder Ride for Pediatric Diabetes! We have an announcement about Gundersen Medical Foundation president and chair, Stephen Shapiro, MD, FACS:

In February 2027, after 24 years of service to Emplify Health by Gundersen and seven years leading Gundersen Medical Foundation, Dr. Shapiro will transition into retirement. We'd like to thank Dr. Shapiro for his leadership in positioning the Foundation to remain a strong partner for the Gundersen Region and wish him the best in his retirement!

First-time dads often experience anxiety around parenting and the changes that come with it. A program called Boot Camp for New Dads aims to relieve some of the worry by connecting dads-to-be with "veteran dads" who have previously taken the course.
