Self Sufficiency Program

Self Sufficiency Program The purpose of the Self-Sufficiency Program is to extend the availability of higher education to low-income parents.

The SSP is a free, one-semester program that offers participants an opportunity to discover their academic and career potential in a challenging yet supportive environment. The class meets once or twice per week in La Crosse WI during the spring and fall semesters. Applicants must have their high school diploma, HSED or GED and must be low-income.

Do you wonder if people really care about the experiences, hopes and dreams of you and your family? Do you feel your interests, ideas and need are important to people who make decisions in our community? Take a chance and share through the La Crosse Area United Way's THE COMPASS SURVEY!
Those living and/or working in Buffalo, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau, and Vernon counties in Wisconsin, and Houston County in Minnesota are invited to take the Compass survey. Please encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to do the same!
