It’s almost time to head back to school and FFA is gearing up for another busy school year!

We held our FFA Officer Training over the past couple of weeks. FFA officers met four days to plan events, create chapter goals, and participate in leadership development. This year, our focus is enhancing our Program of Activities by honing in the the three areas: Building Communities, Growing Leaders, and Strengthening Agriculture!

We’re looking forward to a great year!

The final day of convention was exciting, as the new Wisconsin State FFA Officers were installed from around the state!

Students also heard State FFA President Amalia Draxler’s retiring address!

We then packed up and headed home to La Crosse, hanging up our jackets as we wrap up another busy year for our FFA chapters here in La Crosse…

Congrats to our three La Crosse FFA members who earned their Wisconsin State FFA Degrees! These members are the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th FFA members from La Crosse to EVER earn their State Degrees, since our chapter’s founding in 2023!

These students put in a lot of hard work to compile records, edit, and write their degree applications! Great work- you represent La Crosse FFA in many great ways! We are so proud of you!

Day three of convention was packed!

Students explored the Convention Expo, where they met with potential employers, colleges & universities, organizations, and many others!

We had three students recognized for attaining their State Degrees! (See separate post for them!)

We heard from Dr. Temple Grandin, a world-renowned animal welfare scientist and profressor!

Many of our students attended workshops to help brainstorm new activities to incorporate into our FFA chapters here in La Crosse!

Mr. Lueck was recognized on stage for his 5-year anniversary since being a state FFA officer!

Mr. Mickelson and Mr. Lueck helped with contests, judging, and an expo booth.

Finally, the day wrapped up with a dinner with our new teacher, Mr. Soldner, and then a dance & yard games!

State FFA Honors Band and Chorus members also started their rehearsals on day two! We were proud to have Harper and Sydney represent La Crosse FFA in the honors band!

These two auditioned, received recommendations from directors, and rehearsed this spring to be ready for convention- a lot of work went in!

They performed at general sessions and will also perform for several days that the Wisconsin State Fair in August!

Harper also received a nomination to be in the National FFA Honors Band! Congrats to Sydney and Harper!

Max was one of 49 students in the state to receive a Gift of Blue Jacket.

Sydney and Atley were on stage receiving the P.R.I.D.E. Award for chapter membership growth.

Elise was on stage receiving a reward a Sectional Membership Increase Award.

Day two in Madison was the official kick-off of the 97th Wisconsin State FFA Convention!

Students attended the general sessions, learned about FFA Proficiencies, heard remarks from Wisconsin’s Governor, Tony Evers, and the middle school chapter was recognized on stage for membership awards! The night wrapped up with a Hailey James concert!
