Hamilton/SOTA I Library

At the Library, we strive to be the instructional hub of the school. With a collection of over 8,000

Children come often to the Library to listen to stories, research many topics, learn about digital citizenship, and to check out books. Children make their own selections with help from teachers and Library staff. Students enjoy browsing in the picture book section or searching for materials on their favorite subject. Whatever they are interested in, there is sure to be something for them in the Library.

Lunch today at Hamilton Elementary School and SOTA 1 La Crosse was a book worm! Of course we had to try it as it is new La Crosse Public Schools menu item. Ms. Patty did a wonderful job creating it! SDLAX Nutrition Program

This week is banned book week! Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in libraries, bookstores, and schools. Held in the last week of September or first week of October, the annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community — librarians, educators, authors, publishers, booksellers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas.
