What a sad day for the students, teachers and parents of Lincoln Middle School. Not to mention the neighbor loss. I was as shocked as some of the other parents in attendance last night. The school district had invited the neighborhood to a “listening session” last Wednesday where they made it seem that this discussion was just beginning. The school district and the school board handled this situation very poorly in my opinion and I feel La Crosse deserves better. From how the discussion went last night Engels only gave them this proposal at the meeting. There was no time for the board members to read and process what they had to vote on. And he left this referendum proposal until the last night possible to make the April ballot thus pushing the board into a corner.
LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The La Crosse School Board voted 6-2 to close Lincoln Middle School at Monday night's board meeting.
