🥏🌳 Lifelong Activity Field Trip! 🌳🥏

Our fifth graders had a fantastic time getting active in the La Crosse community earlier this week with a morning of frisbee golf at Rowe Park and Pettibone Park! From practicing their throws to enjoying the beautiful outdoors with friends, students had a great opportunity to build skills, stay active, and experience a lifelong activity they can enjoy for years to come.

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this fun-filled day possible! 💙🥏☀️

A New All-Abilities Trail to the Frog Pond!

We are excited to share a wonderful new addition to Summit Environmental School — our All Abilities Trail leading to the Frog Pond!

This project is a great example of what can happen when our school and community come together to create meaningful opportunities for students. The trail was made possible through a collaboration between the La Crosse School Foundation and the Summit PTO, with the incredible craftsmanship of W***y Bittner from Great Lakes Trailbuilders.

The new trail provides greater access to one of our favorite outdoor spaces and helps ensure that more of our students can experience the beauty, learning, and wonder of the Frog Pond.

A huge THANK YOU to Ms. Laura Cowan, who helped bring this project to life. We are grateful for the investment in our students and in Summit's commitment to connecting children with nature.

This is Team Summit at its best, working together to make our school an even better place for every child.

Team Summit would like to extend a WARM welcome to another NEW face in our PK/4K program!

Welcome Ms. Sam!

About Me:
Hello, I'm Samantha Prestby - Ms. Sam, for short! I have a background in developmental psychology and physical therapy - so emotional regulation and safe mobility are my jams! But my true passion lies in early childhood education. I have been teaching for 10 years now, working with students from 6 weeks old to Kindergarten. I'm so excited to be here at Summit with all of you! Go Team Summit!

First graders went outside on a scavenger hunt for our first Outdoor WIN. This month we are learning about native animals to WI. Students used clues to find the habitats where native animals live around our school campus. Students practiced stretching sounds and writing complete sentences while using their inquiry skills. There were so many smiles and giggles from first graders!
