Confident kids aren’t raised by parents who do everything for them.. they’re raised by parents who let them try, struggle, speak up, make mistakes, and discover, “I can do this.” 🤍

Many people have kids with Sensory Processing Disorder and don't know there's a reason for their behaviors (and believe it or not, many adults have it and don't know... that was me a few years ago! 🤯)

So... here's a post explaining it a little bit.

***SPD is complicated and can look different in every person who has it. This is a quick list of possible ways it can manifest... but it's important to note that the left/right sides are not mutually exclusive. Many people exhibit a mix of behaviors from both sides.***

Not everyone will understand ADHD — and honestly, you don’t have to convince everyone.

Some people will dismiss what they don’t understand. That doesn’t make your experiences any less real.

You know the challenges you face. You know the effort it takes. And you know the strengths that come with your brain too.

You don’t owe anyone endless explanations. Protect your peace, set your boundaries, and surround yourself with people who listen and support you. ❤️

ADHD is real. Your experience is valid.

One of the biggest problems in modern parenting is that many associate accountability with cruelty.

Yes sometimes a child is genuinely struggling and needs support.
Sometimes they are hurting and need understanding.
Sometimes they absolutely are the victim.

But sometimes they broke the rule.
Sometimes they ignored repeated warnings.
Sometimes the consequence was fair.
Sometimes they made a bad choice.

And if every uncomfortable moment is treated like injustice, children never learn how to take responsibility for their actions.

Protecting children from every consequence might feel supportive in the moment.
But long term, it can leave them unprepared for the real world.

Growth usually comes with discomfort.
Maturity comes from learning to reflect, adapt, apologize, and do better next time.

Supporting your child does not mean defending every decision they make.

Sometimes the most important lesson a child can learn is accountability.
