Every school day counts, especially before and after spring break! Missing class can mean falling behind, so let’s keep the momentum going strong. Plan vacations for GUSD’s spring break, March 24-28, and make the most of every learning opportunity! Note that students have an additional day off on March 31 for GUSD teacher development day. School resumes on Tuesday, April 1!

Due to the high winds and fires impacting our region, all Glendale Unified School District schools, child care operations, and district offices will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8.

GUSD employees should not report physically to work on Wednesday.

This decision was made to prioritize the safety of our students, employees, and families, as wind and fires have significantly impacted the accessibility of roadways and the air quality in our area.

We will assess any damages caused by the wind to ensure the safety and security of all our school facilities.

We will provide an update on our school schedule for Thursday, January 9, by tomorrow afternoon once the assessment is complete.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we take steps to keep our District safe.

Glendale Unified School District and nine GUSD schools have been named to the 2023 Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll for high achievement and student success! The Honor Roll program highlights high-performing schools and districts that are preparing students with the fundamental skills needed to be successful in college, career, and life.

GUSD has been named a 2023 “Star District,” a high-performing district where more than 33 percent of students are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged. Additionally, seven GUSD schools, Clark Magnet HS, Toll MS, Balboa ES, Edison ES, Jefferson ES, Mann ES, and Muir ES, have been named 2023 “Star Schools.” Monte Vista and Valley View ES have been recognized as “Scholar Schools,” high-performing schools where fewer than 33 percent of students are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged.

Valentine’s Day is extra special when we spend it with our friends and teachers!

Our student council worked diligently as they put all the Valentine’s Day grams together and making sure that they were all delivered by the Valentine’s Day!

Mrs. Harvey was presented a mini grant from the Delta Kappa Gamma Society yesterday! She will be using it to buy an ant farm and caterpillars for her classroom. Congratulations Mrs. Harvey!
