Myth One: The Root Chakra
Myth of Equus and the Earth
Affirmation for the First Chakra: I am rooted in the power of stillness.
The First Chakra relates to our physical energies. Since we are the creators of our own experiences, we need to be grounded in the physical world with a healthy Root Chakra. Manifestation on the physical plane requires us to be in the present moment and to be energetically aware of our bodies. Buddy begins this chapter by telling a myth about horses concerning the Chakra of Manifestation.
When I asked him to talk about creation myths for the species Equus, he began by showing me the Chakra System as a range of sounds, vibrational frequencies, colors, images, voices, rhythms, and movements. He said the Chakra System is a synergy of these energies, and that this synergy creates form–all form and matter on Earth.
Myths are the connective tissue of the spiritual life. Myths come from the spiritual realm. To find your personal connection to spirit is to find your personal soul myth.
We were once “Travelers” who moved across the face of this vast universe. Horses were formless travelers. They were formless energies looking for meaning and purpose. There were also Travelers who knew their meaning and purpose, who were also looking for form.
Cosmic energy seeks to express itself in form on Earth. All matter has a soul myth. And this soul myth reflects the basic synergies of life. It encompasses all form and formless beings, no matter who, or what, or where.
Your soul myth is your guiding myth. Your soul myth is your “pilot” myth, guiding your energies into form. Your soul is the central processor, the captain of your vessel. If you know how to ride the soul, you can create anything in the world, and bring what you want to create into manifestation. The soul is at the center, like a nucleus at the center of a cell. When the cell divides and multiplies, this is because all cells have connected at the center, equally. The force of that connection breaks the cell in half and where there was one there are now two. And, so on. LIFE HAPPENS!
The “driving force” or “soul” of the Traveler is free to choose its own organization or organizing pattern. Once the "force" gains consensus from the collective that is when something starts to “materialize.” It is the law of the universe at work creating matter. The laws of attraction bring simple organisms into contact with each other and then you have a group energy or “mind.”
The Travelers are those who have broken free from their original forms and are looking for complimentary Travelers to connect with. Once they have a collective agreement, and enough capacity and force, then comes movement. Once there is enough momentum, through collective movement, then comes speed, and higher velocity, and so on.
Those who keep true to their original form stay with the movement. Those who cannot stay true, either leave, or die. This is how species are born, or exit-–through purpose, momentum, speed and velocity, (momentum relates to purpose, relates to consensus, relates to force, relates to mass.)
What we see and call horses today, were once Sky Travelers in an infinite universe of possibilities. The Earth, being a small, but powerful force, attracts certain energies to itself.
These energies recruit other Travelers who choose to respond, or not. But once there is enough momentum, and the momentum takes hold, it is hard to turn back. So, one must be careful to choose which force to move with.
As you get closer, things start to go faster and faster, until the manifestation process is complete. The force gathers mass like a snowball rolling downhill.
Now, to return to your question and how it relates to the Chakra of Manifestation. When all energies agree, all forces are working in harmony. That is when the Traveler breaks through into form.
The horse, as a form, was originally like all other forms of its kind (mammals). It was not strong or weak. The horse was small and happy to have an Earthly experience. But as time moved on, the horse adapted to the needs of the Earth. The overriding species, the master species, always prevailed. The master species is the one species that adapts most quickly to the ever-changing environment.
Then, the word went out that new forms were coming in, and the old forms (dinosaurs) were fading out. Size and mass does matter, because at some point form becomes unsustainable.
But then came the Announcement. The Announcement came when all the energies were properly assembled and organized into patterns. Growth is like an announcement to the world.
Horses heard the spiritual Announcement from the other Travelers in the long line of Creation. Creation is a continual line of manifestation as well as destruction.
When the horses heard the Announcement, each one had a choice to make. They could move into the next phase of their species’ growth, (evolution) or they could opt out, (extinction.)
So when the horses heard the Announcement, some agreed to evolve, and others opted out. Each one had their own independent choice to make. However, once they chose, they had to faithfully fulfill their contract.
What was/is the contract? As the Earth evolved, horses’ contract with Spirit was more Earth-centered, meaning they could stay on the Earth as long as they did not harm other life forms, and if they agreed to make a contribution of some kind to life on Earth. Their contribution, it turns out, was to humanity.
So when the horses kept their contract, they were promised continual life on Earth and a space to fill. But if they broke their contract or their promise, then they would have to return to the “soup of creation.” And then they were free to start over again.
Today, horses are trying hard to stay on this planet. Their habitats are shrinking in vast amounts and since they no longer have jobs as powerful movers, their work is limited.
The jobless rate for horses today is fast approaching ninety percent. That means that ninety percent of all horses on Earth have no meaningful work. They are out of a job and face losing their home planet Earth.
Therefore, instead of working in the physical world to keep their contract, as warhorses or for transportation, horses are here to answer another call, advancement/Announcement. That is to help humans focus on their human spiritual contract with the Earth. This contract is to do no harm, and make the Earth good for all, and to help the Earth support all life forms. Humans have become greedy and self-centered. They are being asked to learn how to share their space and life together. To share their resources--air, water and land, with each other.
Horses are altruistic in nature. They share with each other as long as no one gets hurt. They will defend themselves when needed, but they prefer nonviolence.
The essential message of our myth today for the human race for the Chakra of Manifestation is one of NONVIOLENCE.
