How has it already been TWO WEEKS?! 🌶️🔥

Two weeks ago, we celebrated our school’s awesome performance last year by keeping our promise and eating HOT WINGS in front of the whole school!

There were laughs, tears (mostly from the wings 😭), and plenty of 🔥🔥🔥 — but it was all worth it to celebrate our amazing students and staff!

What a great time and an even better memory! ❤️

Way to go, Broncos!

Scholars in Ms. Luna’s class today were practicing PLOT skills from ELA by creating a short story.

To prepare them for next week’s reading of “The Prince and the Pauper,” they were directed to create a story about a prince and a peasant swapping lives.

They were challenged with ensuring each part of their PLOT supported the theme: Physical belongings do not define one’s character.

Learning in action in 8th grade science! 🧟📊

Scholars worked collaboratively as they rotated through graphing stations, applying what they learned about different types of graphs. They collected and analyzed data, determined the best way to represent it, and created their own graphs.

Scholars also took detailed notes in their interactive notebooks to organize their learning and create a resource they can refer back to throughout the year.

Ms. Luna’s ELA students stepped into a spooky, candlelit classroom transformation to preview The Tell-Tale Heart before their first reading! 🕯️📖

To set the mood and dive deep into the classic short story, students rotated through stations where they were:

🔍 Investigating the Author: Learning about the master of mystery himself, Edgar Allan Poe.

📝 Building Vocabulary: Unlocking key words to sharpen their comprehension.

🏚️ Analyzing the Setting: Examining story excerpts to uncover how setting creates suspense and atmosphere.

It was an immersive day of learning, critical thinking, and creepy fun! Way to bring literature to life, Ms. Luna! 👏✨
