PTA to the rescue!

Each grade at Negley Elementary has their own group so you can connect with other parents in your Navigator’s class and grade.

The best part is that these groups are updated every year to the next grade level so they grow with you and your student!

The Negley PTA has earned its first award of the year!

The Head Start award is granted when current membership reaches 85% of the previous year’s membership and we have all of YOU to thank for it 🥰

And we’re no where near done growing yet! We want to keep this momentum going throughout the whole year. Remember that everyone in the community can join the PTA - parent, student, staff, grandparent, aunt, your favorite neighbor, your second cousin twice removed… eeeeverybody 🤩

The voices of our Super Squad student members hold the same importance as our adult members… and they get some pretty rad perks!

One week after joining, each student member will receive one perk pack that contains:

- One vinyl sticker
- One backpack button
- One squishy toy

But it doesn’t end there! Throughout the year they also get:

- One ticket to the school dance in February
- One ticket to an end of year PTA Super Squad only party
- A discount at the PTA store (to be held during recess every 3rd Thursday of the month, starting in September)
- A small birthday treat during their birthday month (July will get theirs in August; June will be included with May)
- Occasional classroom perks

Our first batch of Perk Packs went into teacher boxes yesterday afternoon so if you registered your Super Squad member between 8/1 and 8/19, keep an eye out for those coming home in backpacks!

Ok, so obviously I have no idea what I’m saying and that statement was probably straight up gibberish but the perks thing is so for real.

Thank you to everyone who joined the PTA in the rush of back to school madness! We would love to have as many members as there are students so we still have a ways to go! If you haven’t joined yet, hear us out:

PTA does NOT mean meetings and volunteering. Ok ok… there are meetings and we do ask for volunteers occasionally, but you don’t have to do any of that! There are no obligations. The PTA is just about supporting our students and staff, and creating a more connected Navigator community. That’s it! If that sounds good to you, come join us! If that wasn’t convincing enough, what if I told you there are perks? The different types of membership have so many perks it’d be silly not to join!

‼️DON’T FORGET: Membership needs to be renewed every year. PTA memberships are annual and cover August 1-July 31 every year. Make sure your membership is up to date
