The Head Start award is granted when current membership reaches 85% of the previous year’s membership and we have all of YOU to thank for it 🥰

And we’re no where near done growing yet! We want to keep this momentum going throughout the whole year. Remember that everyone in the community can join the PTA - parent, student, staff, grandparent, aunt, your favorite neighbor, your second cousin twice removed… eeeeverybody 🤩

Hey Hays CISD family, we know how amazing our teachers and administrators are each and every day! Now let’s show it to the state!

This week, the nomination period for the 2027 H-E-B Excellence in Education awards officially opened! Through the Excellence in Education honors, H-E-B awards cash prizes to educators who go the extra mile to serve their students and their communities. To commemorate 25 years of excellence in education, H-E-B will award more than $1 million in cash prizes to Texas educators and their schools through the program in 2027. Nominations are open until September 30, 2026 at HEBLovesTeachers.com/nominate.

The 2027 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards categories include:

* School Counselor
* Principal
* Early Childhood Facility
* School Board
* School District

And so it begins… volunteers needed 😎

Grab your headphones, pop on your favorite podcast, and help us build student ID badges!

If you have any availability over the next four weekdays (8/6, 8/7, 8/10, 8/11) between 8am-3pm, drop by the school to help us put badges into sleeves and attach those sleeves to lanyards. Come for 15 minutes, or come for 2 hours - we appreciate any help we can get!

Then on 8/12 we need help between 8am-12pm organizing the lanyards by classroom and putting them in teacher boxes.
