What an incredible way to welcome our incoming 6th graders to R.C. Barton Middle Schooll! 🎷✨

Our Bobcat Band brought ALL the energy today with an unforgettable performance packed with fun, high-energy pop hits! We hope this musical welcome gets our new 6th grade class pumped up and ready to embrace that true Bobcat spirit. 🐾🎶

What a wonderful conclusion to our combined summer band camp! Our Wallace Middle School Ranger Band and Barton students delivered an outstanding concert performance today, showcasing everything they learned over the week.

This success wouldn't be possible without our amazing community. Thank you to our dedicated parents for your daily support, home practice encouragement, and enthusiastic attendance. Thank you to Wallace Middle School administration and staff for hosting us, to the Hays Band & Guard drum majors for leading fun activities, and to our incredible sectional instructors for their vital guidance.

🎶 Day 2 of Combined Summer Band Camp was a hit! 🎶

Our student musicians did an incredible job building on yesterday's progress—the music flowed so smoothly today! Beyond rehearsal, they showed amazing teamwork and creativity during our section poster coloring competition🎺

What a fantastic start to the summer we had yesterday! Day one of our joint Barton Bobcat Band and Wallace Middle School Ranger Band Summer Band Camp was an absolute smash!

Our young musicians dove headfirst into awesome new music with our incredible masterclass teachers and got to build team spirit playing fun games with the amazing Hays Band & Guard drum majors! The energy in the room was off the charts.

Thank you so much, parents, for supporting your child’s musical journey—it makes all the difference! If your child was on the fence or missed the first day, it is not too late to join the fun! We have so much more music, growth, and unforgettable memories ahead this week. Encourage your kids to jump in, grab their instruments, and be part of this incredible experience. 🎺BIG CONGRATS TO ONE OF OUR Bobcat Band Members! 🎶

Huge shoutout to James Talbert, one of our Barton Bobcat trumpet players, for an incredible week of music-making at the Austin Chamber Music Center Summer Workshop! 🎺

After submitting a recorded audition, he earned a spot at this prestigious, week-long workshop held at the UT Austin Butler School of Music. Throughout the week, he had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with and perform alongside talented musicians from all across Texas and around the world! 🌍🎵

He spent his time learning from world-class instructors, diving deep into chamber music, and sharpening his skills as a performer and teammate.

We are so proud of your dedication and hard work this summer! Keep shining, Bobcat! 🐾💙

From an action-packed field day to an unforgettable celebration at EVO, our band students have had an absolutely thrilling final week of school!

🎈 Field Day Fun: Our students had the best time running around outside, launching water balloons, and cooling down with delicious popsicles! The laughter and energy were truly contagious.

🕹️ EVO Party: Our amazing Beginner Band students had the absolute time of their lives celebrating at EVO! It was the perfect reward for all their hard work.

We are immensely proud of how much these students have grown this year, not only as musicians but as wonderful people. We hope they cherish these memories, and we can't wait to make more music and memories together next year! ☀️🎷🥁 R.C. Barton Middle School

Huge congratulations to our spectacular Wind Ensemble! They absolutely rocked the stage at the American Classic Bluebonnet Festival in San Antonio, bringing home an Outstanding Performance Award and a Division I - Superior Rating! We are so incredibly proud of the immense talent here at R.C. Barton Middle School! 🎶✨

After crushing their performance, the students headed to EVO Entertainment for a well-deserved celebration. From the arcade to the bowling lanes, they had an absolute blast celebrating their hard work together! 🎳🎉

A massive THANK YOU to our amazing parents, Hays CISD Fine Arts, administration, and community—your endless support makes achievements like this possible.
