Congratulations to Dr. Thomas R. Conway, Associate Dean in Kutztown University’s College of Education, on being elected Second Vice President of the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE)!

Founded in 1920, ATE is the only national individual-membership organization devoted exclusively to teacher education and plays a vital role in advancing educator preparation, professional standards, leadership development, and policy nationwide.

Dr. Conway’s election reflects both his national reputation in educator preparation and Kutztown University’s growing influence in shaping the future of the education workforce.

📚✨ KU at PSLA ✨📚

👏 Congratulations to Patience and Emma, recognized as Kutztown University’s undergraduate and graduate student award winners. They were selected by Michelle Sims in recognition of their potential as future librarians and educators during her observation of their student teaching. Both graduates completed their programs this past December.

🎓 Raina Conaway, an Honors student and KU BEARS student researcher, presented her capstone project, “Ready to Go Makerspace Lessons and Project Plans.”

🛠️ Dr. Roseanne Perkins also presented alongside Raina Conaway, Molly Kutz (KU alum and former KU BEARS researcher), and Dr. Deb Duenyas of St. Bonaventure University on their research, “Makerspaces in Action: Insights from PA Educators,” exploring how makerspaces are used in K–12 schools.

We’re proud to see our students, alumni, and faculty making an impact in the field! 💛
