Happy Woman of the Week day! This week’s woman is Selena Quintanilla!! 💜
 
Selena Quintanilla has left a powerful influence in the world of fashion, music, culture, and lives on in the hearts of many. Throughout her career she won 36 Tejano Music Awards, 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 10 Lo Nuestro Awards, five BMI Awards and one award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. In 1995, she was inducted into the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame. The Spirit of Hope Award was created in Selena’s honor in 1996, and was awarded to Latin artists who participated in humanitarian and civic causes.

Happy Woman of the Week Wednesday! This week’s woman is Kenya Cuevas!! 💜
 
Kenya Cytlaly Cuevas Fuentes is a Mexican activist who works to assist trans people and s*x workers. She established the first shelter in Mexico for trans women and continues to fight for recognition of the violence committed against them. 
Her motto is: “our greatest vengeance is to be happy.” She aims to see trans people represented in all professional, political, academic, and cultural spaces.

We are seeking candidates with strong communication, ability to build rapport with students and the campus community, and who have a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and spreading awareness to intersectional feminist issues 🌸💫🌎

Kitty Tsui is the quintessential Renaissance woman: author, activist, artist, actor, athlete. At 38, Tsui won the gold medal at Gay Games III and the bronze medal at Gay Games II in women’s physique. She was co-­president of Arcadia Bodybuilding Society (ABS) and co-producer/co-­director of Physique ’87, the first gay and le***an bodybuilding championship.
