Join us this Thursday from 1:15-1:45pm at the Boxwood House. Weather permitting, we’ll be in the back lawn, if not, indoors at Boxwood. ☀️

Happy Juneteenth! Today we celebrate Black resilience, Black joy, and Black freedom. ♥️🖤💚

June 19th, 1865 is a historical day of freedom for all formerly enslaved people in the US.

In 2021, President Biden declared this day a federal holiday, “Great nations don’t ignore their most painful moments. They don’t ignore those moments of the past. They embrace them. Great nations don’t walk away. We come to terms with the mistakes we made. And in remembering those moments, we begin to heal and grow stronger.”

We must continue to advocate for liberation and honoring our nation’s history in its truest form, without erasure and ignorance as we prepare to celebrate the 250th.
