We recently received the below letter regarding last weekend's rodeos. As you can see it was anonymously sent after the rodeo had concluded so no further action is going to be taken by the board. As outlined in the NHSRA rule book any grievances during the rodeo must be presented to the judges or arena director at the time of infraction. While we know that the majority of our membership and parents want to be helpful in any way possible a few bad apples can make our lives difficult.
I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that western attire is required by the contestants and all adults behind the chutes and helping at the gates of any IHSRA rodeo, including District 2 rodeos. I have attached a map of the areas where we, as a board, have determined that western attire will be required. We will have signs posted. Description is: the arena, south of the arena (bucking chutes) from the announcer's stand to the beginning of the entry gate for barrels and poles to the west fence., and north side (roping end) from the district trailer to the west pole of the gate going to the restroom, to the west fence.
Again, myself and the rest of the board members truly appreciate everyone who are jumping in and helping District 2!
Thank you,
Wes Jennings
President
IHSRA District 2
