Join us this Friday, September 11 prior to kick-off of the high school football game at 6:45pm for this memorial observance.
🇺🇸 Students, community members and first responders from Grand and Clear Creek counties will come together in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks during the West Grand High School home football game against Clear Creek High School on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Kremmling.
The commemorative event is organized in collaboration with a national initiative led by US United and the Sheriffs Unity Network to promote unity and remembrance across local communities.
Twenty-five years ago, the September 11th attacks changed our nation forever. On this solemn anniversary, we honor the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger and the families and survivors who continue to carry the lasting impact of that day.
Many of today’s students know September 11th only through history. As community leaders and neighbors, we have a responsibility to help younger generations remember not only the tragedy, but also the extraordinary courage, compassion and unity that followed—neighbors helping neighbors and Americans standing together.
Although the teams and their supporters will wear different school colors, everyone will come together that evening as one community to honor those whose lives were lost, recognize the sacrifices of first responders and reflect on the enduring spirit of American resilience.
The memorial observance will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will include a presentation of the United States flag, the national anthem, a moment of silence, a bagpipe tribute and a fireworks display. The ceremonial coin toss and football game will follow, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
