Painting life during a government shutdown has been a unique experience on this residency. Looks like this weekend’s event may be canceled (sad face!), but I’m holding out hope that once things reopen, I’ll be back to share my piece at another gathering. Until then, I’ll keep creating!

I think I’ve enjoyed the pitcher plant trail here the most! They’re carnivorous plants and look like they’re laughing at you, or something more sinister haha

My cabin has a cute lil one-eyed grey tree frog. He hangs out by my front door on this ledge every day so I had to paint my lil old man buddy- he looks very sleepy on his perch today 🥰

Totally late posting, but I am enjoying my next National Park residency at Big Thicket National Preserve! I’m busy playing with glow painting for our event International Observe the Moon Night at the end of my stay 😊 I’ll get caught up and post more art I’ve worked on! I’m also working away on my first piano songbook- which is only 1 song away from being done!

Went to Arkansas to visit friends, family, and participated in the White River Artists Plein Air event! I received the First Timers award haha. Definitely rained on me while painting but such a beautiful place to visit!

A quick weekend trip to hang out with my fellow Outdoor Painters Society in Rockport! And goodness, I had a hard time painting boats! But I got lots of tips from new friends and enjoyed some relaxing time at the beach
