A Village of Resources is an event designed to connect families with the many valuable services and organizations available in our area.

This event is open to parents, guardians, educators, students, and community members seeking information about educational support, healthcare, workforce opportunities, family services, and other local resources.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families in Alcorn County and the surrounding areas to learn about resources that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

πŸŽ‰ WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK AT KOSSUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL! πŸŽ‰
We have had a wonderful first week at KMS! Our students are settling into their new routines, learning their schedules, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old ones, and getting back into the swing of school.
We are so proud of the way our students and staff have started the year, and we are looking forward to all that is ahead!
As we prepare for Week 2, we have a few important reminders for our KMS families:
πŸ“ž TRANSPORTATION CHANGES & MESSAGES
Beginning Monday, August 10, please call the school with any transportation changes or other messages for students before 2:00 p.m. The office becomes extremely busy near dismissal, and we want to make sure every student receives the correct message. Calling before 2:00 helps us make sure nothing is accidentally missed.
πŸ“– STUDENT HANDBOOK REMINDER
Please take a few minutes to review the District Student Handbook with your child, paying particular attention to the dress code and the new attendance policy. We are already seeing some violations of these expectations, and we appreciate your help in making sure students understand and follow district policies.
πŸšͺ MORNING DROP-OFF
Doors at our designated student drop-off areas open at 7:20 a.m. Once the doors are open, students may come inside. You do not have to wait for a staff member to be standing at the door before allowing your child to enter.
Thank you to our parents and families for helping us get the year off to such a positive start. It takes all of us working together to make KMS a great place for our students!
Here’s to a fantastic Week 2!

What an exciting time to support our young performers at KMS! After winning in the national competition for School of Rock, we are eager to invite more middle school students to get involved in the arts. Encore Drama Club president, Palin Holley, has made this great display for all our KMS and KHS students to learn about joining our club. School of Rock will be the last weekend in February. Officers Palin Holley, Emma Franks and Kamron Patel invite any students to talk to them if they would like to get in on this groundbreaking time in theatre at Kossuth!
