1. Ball Position
2. Club Selection (Use a wedge or Low Wedge)
3. Hand Path Super important
4. Gotta strike the ground
5. Either getting to your lead side or starting and staying there very important for consistent strike point.
Tall Trail Side helps.
You can hit pitches from any ball position if your path is enough around you. Moving ball position is how you hit different trajectories.

This before and after demonstrates the power your grip has over your instincts and athletic reactions. This athletic player was reacting to his grip and seeing nothing non optimized results. Changing his grip led to more productive club face and body reactions to produce power. Your grip affects the club face, your club face affects your reactions.
