We’ve been buzzing with anticipation to share this announcement. Follow us for updates on our hive expansion project and join us for a beekeeping demonstration (and giveaway) with The Shue Bee Farm on September 9th at 2:30pm in Sustainability Meadow @ Indiana University Kokomo 🐝

This morning, our crew assembled to continue our work on the Kokomo Creek project and met with a DNR rep to walk the space and discuss fall planting intentions. This kind of restoration work is physically demanding and requires a lot of coordination. Scheduling and logistics, acquiring equipment, applying for grants, working with campus partners like Student Sustainability Council at IUK and classes/groups that can give us some volunteer hours…all in service of remaking something that will outlast us. We want this to be a space that future Cougars and Kokomo residents will use regularly for education and recreation. We want to nurture a biodiverse area in which native plants and animals thrive. Progress won’t always be linear, but we promise to continue putting in the sweat equity to reach our goals. We hope you’ll join us in this effort.
