Happy National Nurses Week! May 6th-12th is a special week to recognize and celebrate all those in our profession and to express how much their dedication, compassion, and expertise truly mean. We proudly honor our faculty, students, and professional nurses in the community who inspire, lead, and make a difference every day through their commitment to exceptional care and quality patient outcomes. Dean Opsahl, Dr. Dea Kent, & Dr. Stephanie Pratt, provided some sweets & treats for our friends at Community Howard Regional Health earlier this week. It was especially meaningful to have the three most recent Deans of the IU Kokomo School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions together at the Chancellor’s Guild Celebration (Dean Angela Opsahl, Dr. Linda Wallace, & Dr. Susan Hendricks), reflecting a shared legacy of leadership and continued commitment to our school and university. 🩺♥️

At IUK School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, our OTA students explored how 3D printing can serve as a cost‑effective solution for creating patient‑centered devices. We were grateful to welcome Dr. Chang Dae Lee from IU Indianapolis, who provided a guest lecture and hands‑on instruction on adapting musical toys using 3D‑printed switches to support participation and engagement in therapy. An excellent example of innovation meeting practice in occupational therapy.💛
