🌎🇲🇽 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Central! 🇲🇽🌎

Mr. Padilla’s 7th grade Spanish students didn’t just learn the language—they brought their learning to life! 🌽🙌

Students put their Spanish skills into action as they made fresh corn tortillas while practicing sequencing words, cooking vocabulary, and action verbs. Along the way, they experienced culture through a hands-on activity that made learning meaningful, memorable—and delicious! 😋

From communicating in Spanish to following directions and working together, our WildKats demonstrated what it means to be IB learners—knowledgeable, communicators, and open-minded.

And the best part? They got to enjoy the fresh tortillas they made themselves! 🌮❤️💙

This is what learning looks like at Central: hands-on, high-engagement, culturally connected, and full of opportunities to bring the classroom to life.

Our CMIS Dance Team Tryouts are coming up September 29 & October 1 from 6–8 PM at the WildKat Gym—and BOTH DAYS ARE REQUIRED!

If you weren’t able to attend our clinics last week, don’t let that stop you! Find a friend who attended, learn the choreography, and come prepared to show us what you’ve got! 🔥

We’re looking for dancers who bring:

🎨✨ CREATIVITY IS ON DISPLAY AT CENTRAL! ✨🎨

Our Student Artists of the Month are showing us just how much creativity, skill, and learning can come to life through art! 🐾❤️💙

Step inside the Central Middle School Art Gallery and check out what our artists have been creating:

🐟 6th Grade: Diving into koi fish artwork while exploring color and artistic techniques.

🦁 7th Grade: Just wrapped up Animal Fauvism, using bold color choices, texture, and expressive techniques to bring their artwork to life.

💡 8th Grade: Creating light portraits, putting their understanding of light, shadow, contrast, and color into action.

Across our art classrooms, students have been exploring warm and cool colors, light and shadow, contrast, and texture—turning artistic concepts into something they can see, create, and experience.

At Central, art is more than a finished picture. It is creativity, problem-solving, observation, communication, and learning in action. 🎨🧠

🏀 7th & 8th Grade Boys: Keep building your skills and getting ready for the season with workouts on October 6, 8, 13 & 15 from 6:00–7:30 PM at Memorial Gym.

We saved our FAVORITE spirit day for last! Our Central WildKats showed up in full force, decked out in red and blue and ready to represent! 🔥🐾

From the halls of Central to the stands at Kokomo High School, the WildKat spirit was LOUD! 📣❤️💙 We came together, cheered on our KHS team, and celebrated an AMAZING Homecoming win! 🏆🎉

What a week of spirit, fun, friendship, and PRIDE! We are so proud to be Central WildKats! 🐾❤️💙

Day 4 of Homecoming Spirit Week was another HUGE success! From country boots to country club vibes, our Central WildKats showed up, showed out, and made it nearly impossible to decide who took the win! 😂🔥

What a week it has been! ❤️💙 The school spirit, laughter, creativity, and ENERGY have been incredible—and we’re not done yet!

Day 3 of Homecoming Spirit Week was a TOTAL THROWBACK! 🕺💃🔥 From the ’70s to the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s, our Central WildKats showed up and showed OUT! 🎶📻✨

We’ve seen so much Central pride all week long, and we LOVE the school spirit filling our halls! ❤️💙🐾 Keep that energy going because we’re not slowing down yet!

🎨 CREATIVITY IS PART OF HIGH ACADEMICS! 🎨

At Central Middle International School, our Integrated Arts program is so much more than creating something that looks amazing—it’s about teaching students to think, problem-solve, experiment, make connections, and communicate ideas in creative ways.

From 6th grade geometric animal art 🐾 to 7th grade dragon eyes 🐉 to 8th grade textured collages 🎨, our students are applying academic concepts while developing their own artistic voice.

That’s the power of an IB education + Integrated Arts: students are challenged to think beyond the expected, take creative risks, and discover that there are many ways to solve a problem and demonstrate what they know.
