Redeemer Lutheran School

Redeemer Lutheran School Private Christian Elementary School Preschool - Grade 8 These schools provide Christian education to over 273,000 children and young adults.

Redeemer Lutheran School provides a caring, Christian atmosphere where children are taught by compassionate, dedicated teachers. Redeemer Lutheran is part of a much larger school community, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, with over 2400 schools at the preschool, elementary, and secondary level. For well over 100 years, Lutheran Schools have been open to assist children as they prepare for life in this world while growing in their faith in Jesus Christ. At Redeemer Lutheran School, we believe in educating the whole child-mind, body and, most importantly, soul. All instruction is motivated by the love of God in Jesus Christ, our Lord, for the purpose of enhancing the faith of each child. Redeemer Lutheran School opened in 1984 and is currently in its 30th year of offering a Christian education. The original building was part of the church..In January of 1988, the school had a ribbon cutting for a new school. In 2008, the Middle School wing was added, with the ribbon cutting for that celebration in November of 2008. The Lord continues to bless our students and families at Redeemer Lutheran School. Our curriculum uses state adopted textbooks, with our religion text being published by Concordia Publishing House, the publishing company of the LCMS. We are accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation. We are also accredited by the state of Indiana. Redeemer Lutheran School operates as a ministry of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and is governed by the policies of the Board of Education of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

Thank you to the Kokomo Fire Department for giving our early childhood students a tour of the fire house and showing us what you look like in all your gear so we don’t get scared. We loved learning about your vocation during College Go! week.

Mrs. Natalie Pugh is our 3rd Grade teacher:

My name is Natalie Pugh and while I love the world of education very much, my first vocation is to sit at the feet of Jesus, my beautiful Lord and Savior. He is my teacher, my wise counselor, my strength, my song and he gives me the grace to show up in the classroom everyday.

My second vocation is as a wife, mom, and grandma. The Lord has gifted me with a beautiful family, as a young girl I asked the Lord to select a husband for me and he gave me a treasure. I have been married to my dear husband, Joel, for 31 years. We have four children who are now all grown, married, and having children of their own. We are smitten with our eight (and counting) little grandchildren, who bring a tremendous amount of joy and jelly kisses to our lives!

The Lord has taken me on quite an educational journey, I hold an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Delta College, a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University Kokomo in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Oral Roberts University. I have also homeschooled for a short season and taken a few Bible and counseling courses along the way. I have also been blessed to teach children in China for a summer as well as help with VBS/summer camp in the Dominican Republic another summer.

School is my happy place! I love to see kids grow, thrive, and have the confidence that they know how to do hard things!

Shout-out to our Redeemer Royals at tonight’s Western Invitational Cross Country meet! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Every single runner set a new personal record and surpassed the goal they set for themselves! Our runners improved their times by anywhere from one minute to over four minutes.

We continue to be so impressed by their dedication, endurance, and grit. Your hard work is paying off!

Way to go, Royals! 💙

Mrs. Emily Farrell is our Middle School ELA and Social Studies teacher:

Teaching is both my vocation and my purpose. God has placed me in a profession that I feel blessed to do every day.

I earned my B.A. in History from Harding University and spent six years working in children’s mental health before becoming a teacher.

I’m passionate about teaching English language arts and social studies, strengthening civics education, and helping students grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Outside the classroom, I coach cross country, 3rd–8th grade choir, Bible Quiz, and Spell Bowl. I love watching students discover their gifts, grow in confidence, and thrive!

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to teach, encourage, coach, and love my students each day. Most of all, I hope every student leaves my classroom knowing they are made in God’s image and are a beloved child of God.

Mrs. Debbie Grecu is our 4th Grade Teacher:

I am a teacher, wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but most importantly a child of God. I graduated from Indiana University Kokomo with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. My plan was to teach in public schools until I received an opportunity to teach at Redeemer Lutheran School. I took the position in 1994 and never looked back. Teaching continues to be a blessing in my life affording me the privilege to share the gospel message with my students as well as helping them build the skills they need to be lifelong learners.
