A little look back at what our dancers were up to this summer!

Our 2026–2027 season may have just begun, but our dancers have been busy all summer long! From summer classes to intensives, they’ve continued learning, training, challenging themselves, and making plenty of memories along the way.

And today, we’re jumping right into one of our favorite traditions of the season: Nutcracker auditions! 🩰✨

We’re cheering on all of our dancers auditioning today and can’t wait to see what this season has in store. 💙

A much overdue Xander & BalletWest photo dump! 💙 🩰

Xander is making one of his biggest dance dreams a reality!

Xander has been dancing for years and is a familiar face at Next Step Dance Kodiak, as a lead teaching assistant, ballet teacher, mentor, and dedicated student.

This summer, he took a huge next step in his dance journey: Xander was accepted into Ballet West Academy five-week Summer Intensive in Salt Lake City! Ballet West’s intensive brings together serious young dancers from around the world for daily training with Ballet West faculty, artistic staff, dancers, and renowned guest teachers.

We are SO incredibly proud of Xander for taking this opportunity, stepping outside his comfort zone, and chasing this dream. We can’t wait to see how this experience helps him grow and what he brings back to our studio and younger dancers.

Also, huge thank you to everyone who has supported Xander along the way. Every bit of support has meant so much to him. He is truly grateful to have such an amazing community cheering him on.

Still thinking about this week… 🥹

Our Summer Intensive with Nick Peregrino & Arianna Henry was full of good energy, new skills, challenging classes, and lots of fun! Our dancers worked hard, stepped outside their comfort zones, and made some pretty great memories along the way. We loved every minute of it!

A huge thank you to Nick & Arianna for sharing your talent, knowledge, and passion with our dancers! We’re so grateful you spent the week with us. 💙

And now, we’re officially onto our next chapter… today is the first day of our new dance season! ✨

Here’s to another year of dancing, learning, growing, and making memories together.
