Co-Teacher Job Description

Hours: PT 15-20 hours per week

Qualifications: A Co-Teacher should-
• Have a minimum of 6 months experience in early childhood care and/ or education.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Be willing to pursue complete ongoing training in early childhood education.
• Be able to care for children ages 2-8.
• Have the skills to work with children, families, and other staff.
• Have the skills necessary to follow curriculum and directions from others.
• Be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
1. Assume responsibility for the management of the classroom in the Lead Teacher’s absence.
2. Follow lesson plans which use the Creative Curriculum, St. Paul Preschool building-wide educational themes, and St. Paul Church spiritual themes.
3. Teach physical, intellectual, educational, social, and spiritual [PIESS] skills to children ages 2-8.
4. Maintain a clean, orderly school environment that boosts and supports the PIESS development of the students assigned to your class, including rotation of material and furniture to fit themes.
5. Interact with parents at drop-off, pick-up, through Brightwheel, and any time there is a concern or praise about a student in your class.
6. Diaper 2–3-year-olds and potty train children who are learning those skills.
7. Work actively with Lead Teacher in your assigned classroom(s).
8. Follow directions from Lead Teacher and Administrators.
9. Complete a minimum of 24 hours of training annually, or 1 college credit, to maintain childcare license. (PT staff

Position Description for: Preschool Director

Effective Date: July 27, 2022

St. Paul Lutheran Preschool is looking for a committed individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families, while effectively and efficiently running all school operations. The director promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth of the children under our care and works with the preschool’s teachers to create an environment of learning.

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Have at least 12 semester hours of college credits in early childhood development, a Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Have 3 or more years’ experience teaching in early childhood care and/ or education
• Be able to care for children 2-8 & have the skills to work with children, families, staff, and community agencies.
• Have the skills necessary to plan curriculum, handle finances, plan and evaluate programs.
• Be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:
• This position is responsible for planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a state licensed preschool program. The function of the center is to provide a safe fun and stimulating learning environment for preschool age children 2-8 years of age.
• Coordinate the daily operations of the preschool while providing an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children and parents.
• Budgeting, record-keeping, maintaining files, recordkeeping, assist with implementation of curriculum, purchasing supplies.
• Recruit, manage and retain quality staff while planning work schedules, staff meetings, evaluating staff performance, coaching, training, and active supervision of employees.
• Maintain processes for enrollment, billing, and recruitment of students.
• Communicate with families about attendance, billing, eligibility, and community resources. Orient parents to the preschool and inform them of the center policies and of the progress of their child.
• Other duties as assigned.

Slow but steady progress is happening at the preschool. If you have a free hour easy jobs like sweeping, pulling trim nails, and other excitement could be yours!! Stop by 9am to 8pm.
