I've come to love this job so much that I hate it when I have to stay home. Once, I went in to substitute teach a class for a day and taught a kid some small, easy drawings. Later, after 1 or 2 weeks, I happened to go back to the same class, and she still remembered what I taught and drew me a gift. That's when I realized the impact we have on kids. I'm planning to take ATC from iteach to become a teacher myself. That's how much I love this job."

The lessons students remember most aren't always found in a textbook. They're found in the people, like you, who believe in them.

How To Teach Curiosity in the Classroom—And Why You Should 07/30/2026

Students are curious, and that is one thing they don't need to be taught. But how you respond to their curiosity teaches them EVERYTHING. According to Weaver, “When a child’s curiosity is encouraged or suppressed, we either reinforce them to learn more or convey that learning shouldn’t be valued. It’s that simple.” 🤔

Consider reading about curiosity and how to respond to encourage students, even when their timing is a little off.

How To Teach Curiosity in the Classroom—And Why You Should Curiosity is one of the most powerful drivers of learning — and it can be taught. Learn how to nurture it in your classroom.

🍎 | LAURA LECHIEN (PA) wrote: "When I submitted my college applications, it was to be a physical education teacher. But because of concerns that there wouldn’t be enough job openings, I changed my major. Upon graduation, I started a great career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Upon my retirement, I started substitute teaching. Now I’ve been able to work in both fields, which I love.

My greatest motivation in teaching comes when a student tells me I have helped them and that they enjoyed having me as their substitute teacher. I love it when I see a student in a grocery store or at a sports event, and they are happy to see me."
