We cannot thank you enough for showing up and supporting MIS this past Saturday for our 30th Anniversary celebration. We are so overwhelmed by the love and support we received this weekend and throughout the planning of our 30th Anniversary Event. We received so many notes, memories, well-wishes, and donations. Thank you, just doesn't seem like enough. We love each of you and truly felt loved and appreciated as we gathered to celebrate. If you snapped photos, please share them with us.

Our MIS celebration is next Saturday!! Have you RSVP'd?

In honor of our school’s 30th anniversary, we are excited to host a reunion celebration for our former and current MIS students and families. This is an opportunity to gather, reminisce, laugh, connect, and celebrate our shared MIS experience. We have more than 30 previous students and several current students planning to join us so far!

Our school was likely the start of your child's educational journey (or yours if you are a former student), and we would love to hear where that path has led! Please use this invitation as a moment to reflect on your time with us. We would love to hear from you. The RSVP portion of the invitation includes space for a story or memory (this can be added or edited later via the RSVP). We will also have opportunities to share at the event, via writing or speaking.

We are having a reception on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The event will be held at McFee Park in Farragut, Tennessee, in the small pavilion. There is ample parking, a covered pavilion for our gathering, open grassy spaces, and a nearby playground. We plan to serve light refreshments and will have photos and memorabilia available for viewing.

Hello, all Current and Former MIS Families!

I am writing to you today from the small school you know and remember. The school is complete with small chairs and tables, prepared lessons and materials, and the memories and experiences of the students who grew, learned, and blossomed here. Children continue to invigorate the room each day with their explorations, discoveries, and remarkable abilities. They fill the space and the teachers with such joy and excitement. I am so incredibly proud to have taken up the torch from Ms. Sue all those years ago to continue MIS’s mission of providing Montessori education to our Knoxville community. A large part of our success is due to the support of our families and community. We have found a great partner in Pals for our fundraising. Kids love their mismatched socks, and now that love can support the great cause of improving our school.



We chose Pals because they align with several of our Montessori principles, including being non-political, pro-equality, and embracing diversity (which you can even see in the mismatched socks:). Montessori also encourages healthy eating, and this fundraiser is a great way to avoid all those unhealthy donut and snack food sales.
