Join us next Thursday, February 9 for our first annual Celebration of African American Music, featuring the UT Men's Chorale, Austin East West African Drumming Ensemble, Hart-Strings Advanced Ensemble, University of Tennessee Percussion Ensemble, Love United Gospel Choir, and much more!

Please join us for the Functional Piano Annual Musical, to be held on November 29, 2016 at 3:45pm in Room 244. The musical will be approximately 20 minutes with light refreshments served after. We hope to see you there!

Hello CNAfMe Members!
As many of you know, we are planning a trip to Chicago this December to attend the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. This trip is an opportunity to attend great performances, clinics, and networking opportunities. The conference will take place from December 14-17. Our group plans to travel to Chicago on the 13th and return to Knoxville on the 18th. From our successful pizza sales, we have some funding available to help cover the costs of the trip. We will not know how much will be covered until we know how many people are going on the trip. In order to receive funding from NAfME your membership must be current.

Here are the estimated costs for the trip based on last year:

Conference fee: $50
Hostel: about $20/ per night = $100
Parking: $10/per car/per night, split between people in the car = $50 total per car
Gas: Depends on how many people per car
Metro Pass: $30 (unlimited, one week)
Food: on your own

Congratulations to University of Tennessee, Knoxville music education student, Hailey Parks, and Class Ring for placing fifth in the world in the annual Sweet Adelines competition!!!!

Dr. Royse and Dr. Battiste, along with Dean Pappas, Dr. Murphy and Dr. McConville, represented the University of Tennessee, Knoxville well at the College Music Society National Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Congratulations to Jack Francis and Hannah Gamble, students of Andrew Skoog and Lorraine DiSimone, on completing their joint junior recital!
