L&N STEM Academy The L&N STEM Academy is a magnet high school in the Knox County public school system.

The numbers tell a pretty incredible story. This marks the highest ranking in our school’s history.

L&N STEM Academy has continued its climb in the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings and is now 5 in Tennessee and 219 in the nation. We are proud of how far we have come—but even more excited about where we are going.

HISTORY MADE! ⚽️💚💛

What a way to begin a new era at the L&N STEM Academy!

In the first soccer match in school history, our Lady Gryphons traveled to Greenback and came home with a 3–2 WIN!

âš˝ Morgan Hayden made history by scoring the first goal in L&N soccer history!
âš˝ Dylan Camhi added the second!
âš˝ Lillianna Vickers delivered the game-winner to seal the historic victory!

The wait is over... Soccer is officially coming to L&N STEM Academy!

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, L&N STEM Academy will launch its first-ever soccer program, marking the first new athletic program added to our school in many years!

Girls Soccer: Fall 2026
Boys Soccer: Spring 2027

We are also thrilled to announce Coach Xandy van den Berg as the inaugural Head Soccer Coach! Many students already know Coach van den Berg as one of our outstanding German teachers. With 15 years of coaching experience, a state championship as a player, and a passion for both academics and athletics, he is the perfect person to build the tradition of Gryphon Soccer from the ground up.

Interested in playing? Complete the Soccer Information Sign-Up Form (found in ParentSquare) to receive information about preseason meetings, tryouts, eligibility, and more. Completing the form is not a commitment to try out—it simply keeps you informed.
