The University of Tennessee family came together to celebrate our state-wide community in a heartfelt ceremony today.
A beautiful Memorial Service was held on the Ayres Hall lawn at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of community members who passed away this year. The names of students, faculty, and staff who inspired countless lives were lovingly remembered aloud.
The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture honors the remarkable contributions of three beloved colleagues: David Buckley of the School of Natural Resources, Kristy Wogomon of UT Extension, and Alvin Womac of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science. Congratulations to Dr. Lisa Muller!
She received the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation: Excellence in Elk Country Wildlife Researcher/Biologist Award last week at the 2026 Eastern Elk Management Workshop in Lexington, Ky. She also recently received the James R. Cox Professorship Award from UT.

Students in WFS 493 North American Hunting and Conservation tried out archery last week. Extension Specialist Ronnie Cowan is a certified instructor and gave a demonstration before students shot the bows and arrows.
