Don't mistake sectarian zealotry for fidelity to authentic tradition, for all schismatics and heretics started out that way. "They are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness." - Romans 10:2-3.
To speak ill of saintly popes and falsely accuse them of teaching heresy to the Church is gravely scandalous and sacrilegious.

Ratzinger's words still echo. Be radically orthodox and faithfully traditional. But beware extreme ideologies and mangled conspiracies from every corner that push back against the Magisterium and slander canonized popes as heretics and villains. Neither distortion and misapplication of the Council from the radical left nor outright suspicion and rejection of it from the radical right provides a path to holiness for those in such camps.

As Sheen notes, diabolically inspired resistance and division has always followed after ecumenical councils, with different camps creating straw men out of the doctrines, decrees, and other initiatives promulgated by the Magisterium. On the aftermath of the Council of Nicaea, St. Basil the Great wrote:
"The raucous shouting of those who through disagreement rise up against one another, the incomprehensible chatter, the confused din of uninterrupted clamouring, has now filled almost the whole of the Church, falsifying through excess or failure the right doctrine of the faith..." (De Spiritu Sancto, # # #, 77; PG 32, 213 A; SCh 17 ff., p. 524).
Pope Benedict XVI affirmed numerous times that the texts of the Second Vatican Council are the sure guide for the maintaining the tradition of the Church, not the ideological fantasies and misdirected complaints of the radical left and radical right.
