UTK Communication Studies Welcome to Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee

The School of Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee is dedicated to a scientific approach toward understanding the processes involved in interpersonal and organizational communication. Put simply, we focus our efforts to answer questions about how humans exchange information within interpersonal and organizational contexts. Communication Studies offers a degree program at the undergraduate level and participates in the College-wide master's and doctoral level programs.

Communication is more than talking. It's how we connect with others, understand the world around us and navigate our personal, academic, and professional lives.

At the School of Communication Studies, students explore communication through research and theory while developing practical, career-relevant skills they can put to work in the real world.

You'll learn to:
