TSD Knoxville staff gave a campus tour to future middle schoolers, helping them explore their new school, meet familiar faces, and get excited for the journey ahead!

Students explored the importance of human nutrition and learned how food fuels our bodies for movement and energy. Through hands-on experience in TSDK’s culinary lab, students practiced proper kitchen hygiene, followed recipes, and cooked a variety of foods, gaining valuable knowledge about the foods we eat every day.

Some of the Summer Learning Camp students went to D1 Training to be trained by one of their professional coaches on how to move their bodies in athletic ways, and they also had a question-and-answer session with a coach who specializes in kinesiology, the study of human body movement!

Students enjoyed a hands-on learning experience at the Zoo Knoxville, where they observed how animals move and used their observations to compare animal movement with human movement. It was a fun and engaging way to explore the science of movement!

As we enjoy summer, we proudly reflect on the close of the school year at WTSD as, we celebrated our 5th-grade graduates and their many accomplishments. Congratulations to Elizabella Beavers, Brooklyn Bonds, Ivy Frizzell, Ryder Jordan, Jamarion Simmons, Kaylee Toliver, and Francisco Rodriguez as they prepare for their next chapter in middle school.

A special congratulations to Brooklyn Bonds, recipient of this year's Eagle Award, which recognizes outstanding character, leadership, responsibility, and respect. We are proud of all our graduates and wish them continued success in the years ahead!

In summer camp, students visited WonderWorks!

They explored topics including earthquakes, hurricanes, speed/velocity, space, and gravity. This hands-on experience was incredibly enjoyable and educational for all involved.
