There are no “what is your why” on a post-it note or cheesy ice breakers at our inservice week. We welcomed teachers and faculty back today with creativity, design, prototyping and battling with battle bots!

Staff were able to go through the steps of the design process, including ideating, fabricating, testing and refining together before a fun, friendly, and at times fierce, competition. This was not only an energetic kickoff, but a great activity for staff to think outside the box and generate ideas to benefit our students, mashallah alhamdulillah!

Welcome back, staff!

Students went on exciting field trips, practiced and reviewed Quran, created beautiful art with nature, and much more. A big thank you to our wonderful summer camp staff and volunteers for creating a fun filled summer for our students.

Over the past months, Honors Algebra students have worked with Mrs. Maria to design and build their own remote control racing cars while following the engineering design process. During this project, students applied important math concepts and real-life skills such as measurement, organization of materials, and careful construction while assembling a remote control car kit.

Students also demonstrated creativity by designing the car body using cardboard, paying attention to symmetry, accurate measurements, and how weight distribution can affect speed and performance.

We are very proud of the dedication and teamwork the students showed throughout this project!

Congratulations to our awesome students for an amazing showing at the regional Southeast Appalachian Science & Engineering Fair held at the University of Tennessee.

Dozens of local middle and high schools participated and Annoor Academy was a bright light among the winners. Three AAK students received four industry-specific awards. Three AAK students won Certificates of Excellence in their division and two AAK students placed in the top five overall! Not to mention that all of our participating students received an honorable mention.

Finally, one of our students was invited to participate in the international Thermo-Fisher STEM Fair Competition! MashaAllah! Way go to AAK! Of course, a massive congrats and thank you to Ms. Anna Edwards, our phenomenal middle school science teacher and STEM Fair coordinator!
