The University of Tennessee is shaped by the people who dedicate their talents to serving campus every day.
As a campus design manager with Facilities Services, Alex Boyd helps turn ideas into spaces that will serve students, faculty, staff, and visitors for years to come. His work is a reminder that every project, renovation, and new facility begins with people who care deeply about creating a campus where the Volunteer spirit can thrive.
Join us in getting to know Alex and the important role he plays in supporting the university's mission.

Today, our Facilities Services Safety Team hosted a Beat the Heat event, providing outdoor crews with electrolyte popsicles, cooling towels, and practical tips for staying safe in extreme temperatures.
From maintaining campus grounds to keeping critical infrastructure running, many of our team members spend long hours outdoors. Events like this are a reminder that safety is a shared responsibility and that a little hydration, education, and encouragement can go a long way.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by as we learned, hydrated, collaborated, and had a little fun together. Stay cool, stay safe, and take care of each other.

Our Sign Shop partners with the University of Tennessee Police Department to apply new decals to campus police vehicles, a simple project that reflects something bigger: the collaboration that keeps our campus running every day.
From maintaining facilities to protecting our campus community, we each have a role to play in supporting the Volunteer experience. Together, we're proud to serve the University of Tennessee and the people who call Rocky Top home.

Some jobs are uphill battles. Luckily, our Turf Management team has the right equipment for the climb!
This remote-controlled mower allows crews to safely maintain steep hillsides without putting operators at risk. Smart tools, safer work, and a campus that keeps looking its best.

Passenger Princess? No.
Facilities Services Field Supervisor? Absolutely.
George spent the day riding shotgun, inspecting campus, and reminding us that every job is better with a good dog along for the ride. Grateful for this service dog's role in boosting pawsitivity on campus!

Now that the confetti has settled post commencement and end-of-semester event season, we want to brag on a small but might team responsible for setting up tables, chairs, stages, and more for events across every inch of campus (in addition to their working moving/hauling furniture).
Their work is behind the scenes, often happening before many of us have had our first cup of coffee. Their attention to detail and adaptability make them an incredible asset to campus 24/7 - not just during busiest seasons.
Let's hear it for our Moving & Event Services team!
From classrooms to cow barns, our Maintenance & Repair team keeps every corner of campus running bright. Even the bovine Vols are getting an upgrade. ๐๐ก
