We’re currently considering launching an intermediate Japanese class.
This class is intended for those who have completed the beginner level—specifically, people who have studied Japanese for several years in college, those who have passed JLPT N4, and those who have self-studied the causative and passive forms of verbs, as well as some honorifics. Our goal is for intermediate-level learners to enjoy learning alongside like-minded peers, inspire one another, and solidify and improve their skills.
[⭐ Intermediate Japanese ⭐ Trial Session]
Date and Time: Wednesday, July 1, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. (Summer semester classes will be held on Wednesdays—July 8, 15, 22, 29, August 5, 12, 19, and 26—from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Since we expect small class sizes, the schedule is somewhat flexible. For example, if some Wednesday is inconvenient for some participants, we can move the class to Sunday afternoon.)
Location: Fastest Labs of West Knoxville, 8817 Kingston Pike #103, Knoxville 37923
Content: We’ll start with self-introductions (focusing on your past Japanese learning experiences and future goals), followed by Topic 1, “Meeting New People,” from the textbook. (I’ve attached PDFs of Parts 1 and 2 to this email, so please take a look.) Afterward, we’ll share our opinions and impressions.
Textbook: まるごと中級1 MARUGOTO: Japanese Language and Culture Intermediate 1 B1 (ISBN-13: 978-4384057591)) (Link to Amazon)
Online Materials: https://marugoto.jpf.go.jp/en/download/intermediate1/
(We recommend preparing in advance using the vocabulary list.)
Participation Fee: Free (The 8-week course fee is $240; participants must purchase their own textbooks.)
We’d like to finalize the class content and structure based on the opinions and feedback shared by participants. We hope you’ll join us for the trial class.
We would appreciate it if you could let us know whether you’ll be attending the trial class or not by Wednesday, June 24.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
