Bobby Denton was the long time voice of Neyland Stadium PA announcer from 1967 to 2013. Catch phrases like “It’s football time in Tennesseeeeeee!” And after reminding the crowd concession stand prices were listed in the game program, Denton would exclaim “Please pay these prices and please….pay…no more!”

Julie Giroux is a widely performed and highly respected composer whose music is admired for its cinematic sweep, emotional depth, and brilliant orchestration. Her best-known works for winds include Symphony No. 4 (Bookmarks from Japan), One Life Beautiful, Riften Wed, and The Speed of Heat, all of which have become favorites of high school, collegiate, and professional ensembles. Before devoting
herself fully to concert music, she built a distinguished career in film and television, earning multiple Emmy Awards for her scoring and arranging work in Los Angeles. A passionate advocate for music education and for broadening the repertoire available to ensembles of all levels, Giroux remains an active guest conductor, clinician, and mentor. Her music combines technical command with immediate emotional impact, inviting performers and audiences into richly imagined sound worlds. Giroux's Integrity First from No Finer Calling
is a highlight of our summer concert!
