What does it mean to be a Bearden NJROTC cadet? ๐Ÿพ

It starts with Academic Excellence.

Bearden NJROTC is about much more than uniforms, competitions and drill. Cadets leave here ready to lead, serve and succeed, whatever path they choose after high school.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: Academics come first. Cadets are challenged to set high standards, take ownership of their education and pursue excellence in the classroom.

LEADERSHIP: Cadets donโ€™t just learn about leadership. They practice it. They learn to communicate, make decisions, solve problems, work as a team and lead their peers.

SERVICE: Leadership means serving others. Cadets give their time and talents to our school, veterans and the greater community, learning what it means to serve their community.

PHYSICAL FITNESS: Physical fitness builds strength, perseverance, confidence and resilience, teaching cadets to challenge themselves and keep going when things get difficult.

ACCOUNTABILITY: We hold ourselves and one another to a higher standard. Cadets learn responsibility, discipline, integrity and the importance of following through on their commitments.

๐Ÿพ Thatโ€™s the Bulldog Company.

Want to help us grow it? The Bearden High School NJROTC Boosters support our cadets through fundraising, spirit wear, competition travel and more. Join us, volunteer or make a donation. Every bit of support helps our cadets succeed.

Our Semper Fi Leadership Team had the incredible opportunity to travel to Quantico, Virginia, for a trip centered on leadership, service, and learning.

Cadets attended the Officer Candidates School graduation and celebrated a very special member of the Bearden JROTC family โ€” alumnus Samuel โ€œWhammerโ€ Welden, who officially graduated from OCS! Congratulations, Whammer! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The experience also included a visit to the National Museum of the Marine Corps, where cadets explored Marine Corps history, traditions, service, and sacrifice firsthand.

Trips like this take leadership lessons beyond the classroom. Our cadets had the opportunity to see where discipline, perseverance, and commitment can lead โ€” while learning from those who have served and those preparing to lead.

Congratulations again to Samuel โ€œWhammerโ€ Welden! Semper Fi!

What an honor it was to hear Paula from The Respect and Remember Foundation share the story of Army Staff Sergeant Ryan Christian Knauss. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

His courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice are a legacy that will continue to inspire and impact generations to come. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor his memory and to be reminded that true leadership is built on service to others.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations, Cadet Bombardo and Cadet Strickland!

Two of our own Bulldog alumni just completed NROTC New Student Indoctrination (NSI) this week โ€” the first step into their college NROTC programs as they head off to campus this fall. Cadet Bombardo is headed to the University of Idaho, and Cadet Strickland is headed to the University of Memphis. From the Bulldog Company to the next chapter of their Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps journey, they're carrying the discipline, leadership, and heart for service they built right here at Bearden with them.

We couldn't be prouder. Congratulations, and fair winds! โš“
