Bearden Theatre invites you to save the date for our one night only fall competition one-act:

FEED THE MACHINE

📍 Bearden High School Auditorium

Feed the Machine is a new adaptation of Sophie Treadwell’s groundbreaking 1928 expressionist play Machinal, a story about a young woman struggling against the pressures of work, marriage, society, and a world that expects everyone to fall in line.

This production will represent Bearden at the Tennessee Theatre Association One Act Festival, where high school theatre programs from across Tennessee perform for professional adjudicators.

This prestigious award is given to one high school each year to celebrate its commitment to providing an arts rich education for all students.

What started as rehearsals full of heart, hustle, late nights, laughter, notes, costume parades, weekend tech days and dance rehearsals, band rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and a whole lot of pink… became something truly special.

Bearden Theatre’s LEGALLY BLONDE has been recognized with 12 Marquee Awards honors, including 6 students already recognized for their work and 8 additional nominations for the show.

This celebration belongs to all our actors, technicians, designers, choreographers, student leaders, parent volunteers, directors, and supporters who helped bring this production to life.
