What started as an opportunity to earn “good days” toward her sentence became something much bigger. Through determination, resilience, and a willingness to step outside of her comfort zone, this inmate discovered that she was capable of more than she ever believed.
Despite facing adversity along the way, she committed herself to the process, embraced new challenges, and became the first inmate at our facility to successfully complete a virtual HiSET exam while incarcerated. Today, she has officially earned her high school equivalently diploma — a milestone that represents hard work, growth, and a brighter future ahead.
Her journey is a reminder that education can change lives and that it’s never too late to believe in yourself. We are proud of her perseverance and the example she has set for others working toward their own goals.
