Rail Society at UT

Hey, y'all!

My name is Caroline Cranford and I am going to be working on starting this club again up next semester.

I will be holding an interest meeting on in HSS and that is where we can discuss what meeting times will work best for the most people in the club. Tentatively, we will hold monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month.

There will be an interest and AREMA conference informational meeting on Monday, 9/8, at 6:30 pm in University Center room 226. Hope to see some of you all there.

We are currently set up on the west end of the Pedestrian walkway at the student activity fair if anybody is interested in stopping by.

Just a few pictures from a wintry trip on the California Zephyr

The AREMA national conference will be held in Indianapolis at the end of September. The Rail Society is planning on sending UT students, who are interested, on a completely free trip to this event. If you are free September 27-September 29 and interested please inform Jonathon Boghozian ([email protected]) as soon as possible.

Hello everyone,

First I would to apologize for the delay, the Rail Society email account has been down and I am in the process of getting it fixed. Until that is fixed, Facebook will have to do for now.

Now, for those who are part of the Executive Board Committee, I am trying to set a meeting for a formal election for the rail society positions for next year. I want to schedule it before Thanksgiving next week.

If you are still interested in becoming an officer, let me know.Also, be prepare to tell everyone why you are interested in the position your want. Try let me know what times you are available before the end of this week. Then I will let when the executive meeting is. Let me know if you have any questions.

Our next formal general body meeting will be in the UC room 226 on November 28.

Hey Everybody, The Rail Society at UT placed 3rd in the Class I Exhibits for Engineers Day! I would like to thank everyone who volunteered and helped with the exhibit. The plaque will be in CTR if you want to see it. Thanks again.

Tour of Knoxville Locomotive Works! This Saturday, Oct. 6th

The details are as follows:
-Closed Toe Shoes must be worn and long pants are preferred.
-Meet at the lower level (Locust Street entrance by the elevators) of the Locust Street Garage 9:30 am
-Carpool to 300 Quincy avenue tour begins at 10:00 am
-Lunch at Pete's cafe (individual settlement)
-Presentation on the Coster Shops by Dr. Dave Clarke at the UT Conference Center

Please tell you friends and forward to your respective associations as all are welcome. It should be a great time and I look forward to seeing everyone in attendance. Espeically since there is no football game this weekend!
