We have officially kicked off the 2026 Coupon Book Campaign September 10-30!

In this fall’s book, KCS will again be offering both a printed version and a mobile app. The cost of the Knox County Schools Coupon Book is $20 with $15 remaining at the school.

Cardinal Families,

Monday, August 24th is the first full day of school for all of our kindergarteners and preschoolers. We are SO excited to have them with us at school every day! Please be patient as our car rider line for arrival and dismissal will take a little longer than it has been this year as students learn the routines.

Kindergarten families, starting Monday, you will no longer walk your student to class or park and walk them to the door. All students who are going to be dropped off or picked up in the car rider line must join the line of cars and let their student(s) out at the front of the building. Arrival starts at 7:10am and dismissal is 2:45pm. Again, do not park and walk your student through the car rider line to drop them off at the door. That is not the safest arrival and it slows down the line. They've got this and we have staff ready to greet them and get them to their classroom!

Preschool parents, starting Monday, you will continue to wait at the back door for Mrs. Kelsey and Mrs. Rebecca to check in your student and walk them to the cafeteria for breakfast at 7:30am. Arrival starts at 7:30am and dismissal is 1:30pm for preschool. Please continue to park alongside the fence, do not park by the school. That blocks our bus lane, so we must keep it clear so buses can drop off students and they can safely exit.

The Cardinal Community (formerly PTSO) is the new way for our school community to support the students and staff at ABES! Our vision for the Cardinal Community is for this to be a way that ALL of our families can be involved in their students' education in whatever way works best for them. The membership drive starts TODAY and it is still only $5 per person to join! All the money collected will go toward instructional supplies and materials for students, staff appreciation, and will help fund all of our school events this year. And we have some fun things planned for this year, so we hope we have great participation!

Please fill out and return the paper forms below to your student’s teacher by September 8th. (They are also coming home this week and in the ParentSquare post!) The class that raises the most money through Cardinal Community memberships by September 8th will win a popsicle party!

Due to the forecasted weather for this evening the Halls Community Schools Back to School Bash has been cancelled.

We intend to reschedule the wonderful event for a later date and will communicate those plans as soon as they are set!

The open house events for Halls Middle and Halls High School will still take place at their scheduled times. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to rescheduling soon!
