Sixteen Students Earn Gilman Scholarships for International Study and Internships 06/10/2026

Sixteen students have been named Gilman Scholars and awarded a collective $55,000 in scholarships from the U.S. Department of State to support studies or internships abroad. The program aims to expand study abroad opportunities for students from all academic fields and backgrounds, helping them develop skills essential to the nation’s security and economic prosperity.

Sixteen Students Earn Gilman Scholarships for International Study and Internships Sixteen UT students have received Gilman Scholarships from the U.S. Department of State to support their studies or internships abroad.

Take a break and join us for a round of virtual SINGO on Zoom to earn points towards the Fanily Appreciation Week leaderboard. SINGO is a musical twist on traditional bingo, where players listen to short song clips and mark off corresponding squares on their cards, aiming to get five in a row and shout "SINGO" to win.

Our first place winners will receive a mystery prize pack. To earn points toward the Family Appreciation Week Leaderboard, please register for SINGO using the same name as your Facebook profile if you plan to participate in the daily social media challenges.

Ken Landgren (’69) Combined Physics and Music to Create the Iconic Circle Drill 02/23/2026

Ken Landgren (’69) spent his undergraduate years studying physics, splitting his time between classes on the Hill and band practice in the music building. His love of both fields led him to the idea of a unique marching drill in which circles feed out from the center, creating a ripple effect. Today, the circle drill remains an iconic tradition of the Pride of the Southland.
