Delingerfest brings three operas to Knoxville
Marble City Opera this week premieres two one-act operas performed in English. “Talk to Me Like the Rain” and “Amelia Lost” were written by Larry Delinger, currently composer-in-residence at the University of Tennessee’s School of Music.

Mark your calendars! The Beautiful Bridegroom will be performed on November 11 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. in AMB 50. UTOT's production of the world premiere of Medea is Nov. 7 at 8 p.m., Nov. 8 at 2:30 and 8 p.m., and Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Relix Theater.

Why she loves opera: I love opera because it encompasses so many beautiful parts of the human experience. What other art form celebrates and explores poetry, theater, dance, history, and the human heart, all within the context of some of the most beautiful music composed in the Western World? Opera is such a gift, and such a powerful tool for communication. I'm thankful to study and perform it!
