🎶💙 Some community partners just keep showing up—and Loud Media is one of them.

We are incredibly grateful for Loud Media’s unwavering love and support of the Joy of Music School over the years.

This August, they stepped up once again by generously running volunteer recruitment ads to help us reach new music instructors—something that is absolutely vital to keeping our students learning, growing, and making music. 🎹🎸🎻🥁

Exciting news! 🎉 Joy of Music School is proud to be a Community Investment Grant funded partner of United Way of Greater Knoxville

We’re grateful for their investment in our work expanding access to free music instruction, instruments, enrichment, and mentorship for children across our community.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day we will never forget. We remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who ran toward danger, and hold close the families whose lives were forever changed.

Labor Day Weekend is here!

As we head into the long weekend, we’re celebrating all the hardworking people who help make our community so special.

⛳️🎶 Swing for Joy is just two weeks away!

On Tuesday, September 15, we’re heading to Egwani Farms for an afternoon of golf, great prizes, awesome swag, and one especially fun opportunity: a shot at $20,000 toward a Range Rover Defender. 🚙

Even better, every swing supports the Joy of Music School, helping provide free music lessons and instruments to kids in our community.

We’re grateful to Torres Law, our presenting sponsor, and to all of the sponsors helping make this year’s tournament such a great day on the course.

🎶 Happy Friday, Knoxville!

We’ll be at the Neighborhood Resource Fair tomorrow, and we’re extra excited because one of our very own JOMS students will be performing! 💙🎵

Come out, say hi, enjoy the music, and learn more about what we do at the Joy of Music School and how we’re bringing free music education to young people across our community.

Today, we honor the birthday of the late James A. Dick, founder of the Joy of Music School. 🎶💙

James believed deeply in giving back, and his legacy can still be seen all around Knoxville.

Drive down Gay Street and you’ll see one of the greatest examples. When the historic Tennessee Theatre was threatened with demolition, Mr. Dick purchased it and later turned it over to the Historic Tennessee Foundation, helping preserve a Knoxville treasure for generations to come.

His generosity also supported Knoxville College, Coats for the Cold, and, of course, the Joy of Music School.

At JOMS, James created a place where a family’s financial circumstances would never stand in the way of a child experiencing the joy of music. That vision continues today through every lesson taught, every instrument provided, and every child given the opportunity to make music.

Drive around Knoxville and Mr. Dick’s legacy still stands. At JOMS, you can hear it, too. 🎵

Happy Birthday, James. We are proud to carry your vision forward. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to Shamar Knight for showing some serious love to the Joy of Music School! 🎶💙

Shamar recently raised money to support JOMS and stopped by the School today to personally deliver his generous donation. While he was here, our Director of Operations, Ed Sublett, gave him a tour and shared more about the work happening inside our walls each week.

Support like this means so much to us. Every dollar helps JOMS provide tuition-free music lessons, instruments, and mentorship to children in our community who might not otherwise have access to music education.

Shamar, thank you for using your talents, your platform, and your heart for the community to support our students. We are incredibly grateful to have you in the JOMS family! 🎵❤️
