Earlier this week UT students participated in the Southern Regional Dairy Challenge hosted by Virginia Tech. During the competition, the students were split into aggregate teams containing students from schools all over the southeast, and within their teams, applied critical thinking skills and knowledge from their classes to evaluate a well-managed dairy and then recommended management enhancements to a panel of judges comprised of industry and academic professionals.
While all their teams did excellent, the most important thing is that the students had so much fun during this competition, learned from industry and academic professionals as well as from other students, and gained confidence from this experience.
Results:
George Wilson - 4th Place Team Balchem
Marissa Speck - 5th Place Team Genex
Ellen Black - 3rd Place Team Purina
Great job UT Dairy Challenge Team!
