It was Celtic and Anglo-Saxon Week in the Middle School. We discussed the Roman withdrawal from the British Isles, drew Celtic knots, baked Irish soda bread, performed excerpts from Beowulf, learned about the jig and reel, listened to some traditional Celtic folk music, and did a little creative writing in the bardic tradition.
